The Soleils d'Hiver (Winter Suns) festival puts Anger in a festive mood with Christmas lights, a traditional and socially-responsible Christmas market, games and creative workshops in Santa's Workshop (on Place Maurice Saillant), a program of street events for young and old alike, a circus, “Bazar Divers”, an artists market, etc. The historic center and shopping area will be dressed in lights for the occasion and will come to life with chalet stalls and festively decorated streets. All of your senses will be awaked by the crafts, Christmas decorations, and the smell of hot chocolate wafting through the streets.

This year the Caen Christmas market celebrates its 12th anniversary at the Parc des Expositions expo center. It is very cosmopolitan and features lots of crafts from the far reaches of the world. In all, there are 53 chalet-style stalls selling Christmas products and crafts: nativity figurines, foie gras, Christmas desserts, gingerbread, Belgian waffles, plants, art objects, home deco, clothing, leather goods, jewelry, etc. New activities, lots of surprises, and the star attraction - a ski path through an enchanted forest!

The Christmas market has now become a tradition in Rouen: this village of chalets sets up shop in the square of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in a magnificent setting, enhanced by the profusion of lights and serenaded with Christmas carols.
Regional and handcrafted products from all over the world are showcased in these little wooden houses: woolens, ceramics, fabrics, lamps, candles, incense, jewelry, wooden toys, sculptures, paintings, maple syrup, gourmet specialties, etc. Hunt down an original Christmas gift while sipping a delicious glass of mulled wine or
munching on roasted chestnuts. Kids will also enjoy themselves while riding a donkey, ice-skating in the rink, applauding the performers, or whispering their wish list in Santa's ear.
